Location of Position:Houston, TX
The Position:As a Willbanks Estimator, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of the organization by accurately estimating costs related to materials, equipment, and other relevant areas. You will play a critical role in project planning by providing detailed and precise cost analysis, enabling informed decision-making and efficient resource allocation. Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed within budget, enhancing the overall profitability and competitive edge of the organization.
What You’ll Do
  • Create and maintain job files for each project throughout its duration.
  • Review and comprehend documents such as Request for Proposals and Request for Quotes.
  • Determine list of material & equipment takeoffs to define quantities of work materials.
  • Optimize projects through the stages of product selection, specifications, plans, estimates, proposals, value engineering and redesigns by working with selection & field teams.
  • Manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Communicate with owners, architects, MEP Consultants and General, Plumbing , Mechanical and Electrical Contractors.
  • Organize project related data for order entry.
  • Respond to and track IOM & submittal requests.
  • Read, understand, and interpret building mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection plans & specifications.
  • Determine project requirements, constraints, and responsibilities to meet all customer’s system design, installation and maintenance expectations.
  • Investigate concerns, implement corrective action, and communicate with customers and co-workers as necessary to maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical assistance and product education to the Team, customers, or prospects.
  • Provide technical specifications for quotes & proposals and prepare accompanying materials.
  • Interpret customer requirements; speak with customers or prospects to understand their needs and relay this information to the Sales Representative.
  • Serve as liaison with other departments in the company to gather technical expertise to support the Sales Team.
  • Maintain product knowledge of the service product & equipment offerings of the Company.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical-related associate degree or some post-secondary education preferred.
  • Track record to successfully estimating and negotiating large, complex projects required
  • Five (5) years or more experience in the mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing industry.
  • Experience with Commercial Domestic water systems and equipment, building Hydronic heating systems and equipment, and estimating of pipes, valves, and fittings.
