William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is currently hiring for a part-time Building Maintenance Worker to join our Rockford office.

This position is responsible for the overall maintenance of the building and working with contractors as needed. The expected schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to Noon.

Responsibilities

• Designated contact for outside service vendors (cleaning service, snowplowing, lawn care, recycling services) concerning contractual obligations, track annual maintenance schedules
• Designated contact for fire, sprinkler system, elevator and irrigation service inspections, generator issues, etc.
• Oversee building maintenance contract and service work; process and contract out repair requests
• Monitor HVAC system daily - consolidate repairs with outside vendors when needed
• Check outside grounds daily and keep as clean as possible. This includes shoveling sidewalks and putting down salt in the winter months.
• Inspect restrooms daily to ensure they are operating; replace battery operated equipment as required
• Inspect hallways and high traffic areas, as well as front entrance and reception area to ensure clean and free of trip hazards
• Respond to employee requests in a timely manner respecting proper protocol for purchase or change orders
• Help employees with cubicle/office needs, i.e., relocating shelves or keyboard trays in a timely manner
• Change lightbulbs as required / recycle fluorescent bulbs
• Assist staff with conference room set up for meetings and social gatherings
• Handle package receiving and incoming freight - deliver to proper parties
• Report building defects as soon as possible – water leaks, foundation issues, etc
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of principles, equipment, methods and materials used in building and grounds maintenance activities
• Effective written and oral communication
• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• One (5) year of experience in building and grounds maintenance work is highly desirable.

What's In It For You:

• Salary - $18 - $21 /hour, depending on experience.
• This is a part-time postion. No company benefits are offered.
