POSITION SUMMARY
Formal Education / Training:
Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
BLS within 90 days of hire.
At least one year perinatal experience preferred.
Certified Lactation Consultant, preferred.
NRP within six months of hire.
ACLS certification or agree to obtain within six months of hire.
Level I, Level II and fetal monitoring within 1 year of hire.
Able to function in stressful situations.
Able to return to work within 1 hour when on call.

Equipment and Skills Training:
Standard patient care equipment for services provided. The ability to work well under pressure, to function dependently and independently and to be flexible in applying basic nursing knowledge to a variety of setting. Equipment: Network Computer System; Neonatal Cardiac Monitor; Fetal Monitor; Intrauterine Pressure Catheter; “Intran”; Phototherapy Lights (Bililights andBiliblanket); Infant Ventilator; Ohio NICU, Isolettes and Transport Isolettes; Doppler; Flash Autoclave; Infant Security System; Newborn Photo Service Equipment; Omnicell Medication System.
Physical Environment:
Perinatal/OB-GYN unit with patient population ranging from less than one year of age> ninety-nine years of age.
Physical Effort:
Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day.
Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs.
