Willow Hill Supply is Hiring a Shipping & Quality Control Team Lead - Full Time Day Shift Near Winchester, KY

Willow Hill Supply, LLC, is seeking a full-time finishing assembler in Winchester, Kentucky.

Established in 2011, Willow Hill Supply is a small manufacturer of embroidered patches, printed goods and a reseller of quality tactical gear. We do business under the brands Tactical Gear Junkie and Kentucky Emblem. We pride ourselves in having the highest quality products and being customer forward in all aspects of our business.

We offer a substantial selection of embroidered patches and specialize in custom embroidery, made in the USA. We proudly serve industries including military, police, and fire, to name a few.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for guiding, managing, and leading our shipping department in fulfilling, quality control, packaging, and shipping of all outgoing packages of products to customers. This is a working position so the team lead will also be responsible in assisting with day-to-day job duties as well as administrative duties as a leader.

Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am through 5:00 pm. Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision, life, accident and disability insurance, 401k, paid vacation and paid holidays. This is a salaried, exempt position.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Print, sort and pull daily e-commerce orders and identify products to be produced.
  • Clean and check all products for quality and accuracy prior to shipping, including quantities,

spelling, colors, etc.

  • Utilize shipping software to view, edit and print order labels.
  • Package all orders efficiently using the most cost-effective packaging and shipping services.
  • Ensure orders are shipped within the required timeframe.
  • Confirm all order and shipping details are accurate and alert if any issues.
  • Work closely with customer service on any customer or product issues.
  • Come to work prepared and on time every day.
  • Ensure all staff are ready and present for work or are accounted for.
  • Review and edit team member time sheets and time off requests.
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews of their team members and assign goals.
  • Gather and report KPIs and set goals for team members and themselves.
  • Hold daily, weekly, and monthly department meetings.
  • Maintain department issues list and work to resolve issues through feedback and meetings.
  • Be aware of personal and interpersonal relationships between team members and help to resolve any issues.
  • Enforce policies and procedures with team members.
  • Provide verbal and written disciplinary actions to team members when needed.
  • Ensure each team member is on task and knows their job duties and job expectations.
  • Review resumes and conduct interviews for open positions within their department.
  • Ensure all team members are adequately trained, cross-trained and are kept up to date on new policies and procedures.
  • Provide adequate job coverage and delegate work as needed.
  • Monitor email, chat, and other communication channels frequently throughout the day.
  • Request overtime and flex-time as needed to keep workload manageable.
  • Document and maintain department procedures and manuals and update as needed.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and materials for their department and submit POs when needed.
  • Confirm team members are completing chores and keeping the work area clean.
  • Relay important issues to upper management when necessary.
  • Give basic first aid and report and record accidents.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of computers and shipping software.
  • Ability to meet all required deadlines or alert when unable to complete on time.
  • Ability to change priorities quickly as needed.
  • Work independently and as part of a team and maintain a mature problem-solving demeanor.
  • Work unsupervised and without help at times but still know when to ask for help.
  • Excellent attention to detail and unwavering quality standards.

Competencies

  • Able to read and comprehend basic instructions and paperwork. Proficient knowledge of basic English, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to write legibly to complete paperwork.
  • Solid understanding of basic math including accuracy with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot the following equipment with proficiency: Computer and software, printers, and calculating devices.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close, mid-range, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to sit for up to eight (8) hours at a time. Employee may be required to to climb, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
