Your Role with the Company:

The Sous Chef is responsible for assisting in managing the kitchen, along with the Exec Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine. Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Supervise, train, and coach kitchen staff
  • Ensure foods are prepared in accordance with company standards for quality, freshness, consistency, and timelines
  • Ensure all equipment is operated safely via OSHA regulations
  • Ensure proper food storage and safe handling practices
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of foods as order volume dictates
  • Oversee the managerial aspects of the Kitchens, with focus on Food Cost, labor Cost, upkeep of Recipe Viewer software
  • When needed, work in the restaurants to fill in for other Chef roles
  • Other duties as dictated by Chef de Cuisine to run smooth BOH operations

Qualifications

  • 2 Years strong BOH experience as a Sous Chef in a $6M fine dining restaurant
  • Culinary degree strongly preferred
  • Michelin experience a plus, but not required
  • Able to work under pressure with ease, especially during very busy meal periods
  • Experience in analyzing inventory vs. ordering needs
