Job Description
Master of Organizational Leadership Program Director Full-time, 12-month administrative position, with a faculty appointment and rank. Responsible for the continuing development of the Wilmington College Master of Organizational Leadership Program (MOL) and its day-to-day operations. The position additionally requires a distribution of teaching responsibilities, mentoring faculty, completing administrative duties on behalf of the program and engaging in scholarship activities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching graduate courses in the field of Organizational Leadership, such as Organizational Behavior; Conflict Management: Theory; Social Responsibility; Social and Emotional Intelligence; or Business Ethics and Diversity.
  • Developing and fostering relationships with potential social justice organizations on behalf of the MOL program in the southwestern Cincinnati area including Wilmington, Ohio, to include student placement into the organizations for the purpose of fulfilling the Immersive Learning Experience.
  • Improving the content and composition of the Immersive Learning Experience, including setting the expectations for the students and social justice partner organizations, managing partner contracts, creating the student support documents, etc.
  • Overseeing the program curriculum and course schedules for online course delivery, facilitate hiring and supervision of program faculty, advise students, mentoring graduate student research, and address student issues.
  • Working closely with Graduate Admissions to recruit and admit qualified graduate students.
  • Developing and administering an effective strategic plan for the program, along with realistic budget.
  • Completing robust program assessment annually for MOL and program reviews and evaluations.
  • Documenting and maintaining the records and data that support the initial and continued accreditation of the program and preparing any applicable reports.
  • Reviewing and maintaining MOL Program policies and procedures to provide a high-quality online education for students.
  • Creating and adhering to all policies and procedures of the sites where the Immersive Learning Experience takes place.
  • Providing faculty supervision, mentoring, and guidance as needed
  • Participating as a full member of the faculty for the program/college
  • Participating in scholarship by engaging in continuing education opportunities, pursuing research possibilities, exploring available grant support, presenting at professional workshops and conferences, etc.
  • Establish a MOL advisory board
  • Collaborate effectively with the MOL faculty, program advisory board, administration, college board, college faculty, and staff to ensure the best possible educational experience for MOL students.
  • Participating in appropriate faculty and administrative meetings and committees, etc.
  • Engaging in community out-reach and advocating for the MOL program.
  • Supporting alumni engagement as appropriate
  • Successfully complete all other duties as assigned
  • Performance Standards:

    2. Exhibits necessary level of knowledge and expertise and effectively supervises assigned staff.
    3. Coordinates effectively with other MOL faculty and staff and with other college departments/employees.
    4. Strives for excellence in the performance of responsibilities and in meeting the needs of clients/students served.
    5. Knows and observes college and departmental policies, guidelines and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    • Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, Business, or closely related field is required.
    • Candidate should be able to provide evidence of effective graduate-level teaching, including online teaching experience.
    • Evidence of scholarship and publication commensurate with graduate education is expected.
    • Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment, including experience in active and collaborative learning and use of instructional technology.
    • Prior academic administrative experience is preferred.
    • Demonstrated success at relationship-building, communication, emotional intelligence, and critical thinking.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population and to become an integral part of the college community.
    • Knowledge of emerging and conceptual/theoretical ideas related to the profession.
    • Background in budget development and ability to effectively control budgetary expenditures.
    • Ability to work in the evenings and on weekends.
