Purpose:
The position plays a critical role in supporting employee well-being by managing leave programs and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This position is responsible for guiding employees through their leave options, administering workers' compensation claims, and effectively communicating benefits information during employee orientations. The goal is to foster a supportive workplace environment that enhances employee satisfaction and productivity.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of employee leave programs, including FMLA, disability, parental leave, and other leave types.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave regulations and company policies.
- Manage workers' compensation claims by sending relevant information to the third-party workers' compensation insurance company for processing.
- Facilitate communication between employees and the insurance carrier and assist the employee health nurse with any additional questions that may arise.
- Collaborate with employee health services to obtain relevant information regarding employees’ health and recovery status, facilitating a smooth transition back to work.
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees regarding leave inquiries and benefits.
- Provide guidance on leave options, processes, and necessary documentation.
- Present benefits information to new employees during orientation, highlighting health, wellness, leave policies, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of all leave requests, approvals, denials, and workers' compensation claims.
- Ensure timely and proper documentation for compliance and auditing purposes.
- Work closely with HR team members, payroll, and management to coordinate leave administration and ensure seamless communication.
- Collaborate with external vendors and insurance providers as needed.
- Assist with Open Enrollment presentations and documentation of changes with carriers.
- Key involvement in all workplace wellness initiatives, promoting programs that enhance employee health and well-being.
- Assist in the development and updating of leave policies and procedures to align with best practices and regulatory changes.
- Order supplies for the HR department as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
- 2 years of experience in benefit administration
- In-depth knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other relevant leave laws and regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Healthcare industry experience
