PurposeThe RN is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
PurposeThe RN is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Performs telephone triage as needed
- Taking complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate physician
- Schedules, coordinates and reschedules all patient appointments (includes office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities)
- Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/intervention
- Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely
- Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians
- Uses computer system efficiently and accurately.
- Oversees LPN's and MA's
- Performs specialty procedures as trained and as needed, as well as assisting M.D. with patients in office:
- IV therapy
- Injections
- Chemotherapy education
- Bone marrow biopsies
- EKG
- Port access
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
- As directed by department manager
- North Carolina or Compact RN license
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- BLS/CPR Certified
- One year clinical nursing experience
- Oncology experience
