Student Support and Intervention Coordinator

JOB GOAL

To support the ongoing development and improvement of the Response to Intervention and Instruction (RTI2) framework in schools, district-wide tutoring program, and summer learning program. Work with district administrators, school-level administrators, and teaching staff in implementing, utilizing, and making educationally appropriate decisions regarding student instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS

Holds a valid Tennessee teacher's license. Has administrative or supervisory experience; Master’s degree in Educational Administration (preferred); and Meets health and physical requirements.

SCHEDULE 260 Day 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide support and technical assistance in the planning, development, and implementation of student supports in the areas of academics including district-wide tutoring programs and summer learning camps, 
  • Assists with the development and implementation of district policies and procedures related to the Response to Intervention and Instruction framework as a method of identifying students for strategic and intensive interventions.
  • Plan, develop, and provide professional learning, training, and support to district and school-based staff.
  • Monitor school and district compliance requirements and keeps school/district leaders informed on status. 
  • Provide professional development to ensure that teachers are knowledgeable about intervention program components.
  • Coordinate the collection of accurate and applicable data relating to student learning and the effectiveness of intervention strategies. 
  • Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement for all students including English learners, students with disabilities, and students with diverse learning needs. 
  • Participates in collaborative department meetings (professional learning communities) to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve student achievement.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This job may require lifting or carrying of objects that exceed fifty (50) pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows: pushing and/or pulling, stooping and/or kneeling, reaching and/or handling, talking, hearing, seeing, and climbing.
