Description
Role Summary:
Assists in purchasing materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. Qualifies vendors, evaluates bids, and negotiates prices and terms for purchased goods and services. Tracks purchases, monitors vendor quality, and maintains a current database of vendor information.
Scope of the Position:
Purchasing Agent will be located at the Huntsville, AL site. This position requires <10% travel.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities expected of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Monitor Inventory Levels
- Maintain Inventory Levels so that they remain consistent with Company goals and Customer needs
- Negotiate programs and pricing with Vendors
- Track Vendor orders until they arrive at WLC
- Resolve shipping errors (damage, incorrect quantities, etc.)
- Create and track Supplier Returns
- Review Vendor confirmations to ensure correct quantities, items, and pricing
- Communicate with Inventory Specialist to facilitate Inventory Adjustments
- Attend all relevant meetings
- Participate in scheduled Full Inventory Events
- Communicate with Accounts Payable when Vendor invoices are in conflict with our Stock Receipts
- Maintain Item Descriptions in BisTrack
- Communicate to Sales when we add, delete, or change SKU's
- Proven Experience as a Purchasing Agent role or relevant role
- Working Knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Analytical mindset
- Ability to understand and work with all Departments within the Company
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- College degree in related field is preferred
- 1-4 years' experience as a Buyer or related field
- Sit, Stand, frequently
- Adapt to various environments including production
