PROJECT CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Our client is looking for Project Construction Manager to join their growing team.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Reporting Structure:
  • Reports directly to the Project Manager.
  • Manages the construction team, including the Safety Manager, Civil Manager, Electrical Lead, Receiving, and Document Control. This team reports directly to the Construction Manager with a dotted line to the Project Manager.
  • Responsible for organizing and developing the project construction team, including managing project updates and meetings.
  • Safety Management:
  • Oversees the project safety program, ensuring all safety and environmental standards are met according to company, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensures adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
  • Acts as Safety Manager during periods of light construction or when the Safety Manager is unavailable.
  • Provides construction supervision, overseeing all day-to-day project activities.
  • Security Management:
  • Utilizes site security and sign-in/out systems for the project.
  • Ensures that an area is designated for contractors to unload and set up their tools and equipment.
  • Coordinates with the Receiving Manager or Contractor Supervisor for material delivery, including notification and off-loading requirements.
  • Pre-Work Planning:
  • Liaises with on-site contractors throughout the construction phase of the project.
  • Conducts meetings with all contractor supervisors before they are allowed on-site, providing orientation on their scope of work.
  • Monitoring and Oversight:
  • Conducts planned inspections alongside project representatives, ensuring that all scope and quality issues are promptly addressed and followed up with contractor supervisors.
  • Manages and addresses questions related to drawings, scope, schedule, etc., as needed.
  • Works with Document Control to ensure all field drawings are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Acts as the primary interface between internal (site) and external (contractors, suppliers, etc.) stakeholders for the project.
  • Leads weekly contractor meetings to maintain clear communication and involvement across the project organization.
  • Collaborates with the Project Manager on any project-related Management of Changes and Notices of Changes.
  • Conducts contractor/vendor site bid meetings, reviews bid documents with contractor candidates, and participates in the vendor selection process with the Project Manager, Procurement Manager, and project team.
  • Manages project receiving and coordinates with project accounting to ensure timely invoice payments.
  • Oversees project quality on a daily basis.
  • Works with the Project Manager to bring in engineering inspectors by discipline at appropriate times.
  • Serves as the primary contact for contractors, on-site consultants, suppliers, and vendor startup personnel.
  • Develops and manages the commissioning plan and post-startup punch lists.
  • Writes and approves field purchase requisitions for contract labor, including field startup support not included with an equipment purchase, and coordinates with the Procurement Manager for PO issuance.
  • Validates labor or field material invoices for payment.
  • Initiates and tracks purchases beyond the main contracts.
  • Risk Management:
  • Ensures effective construction communication.
  • Monitors and ensures adherence to the project schedule, including regular updates and sharing.
  • Manages project-related changes (Management of Change).

Must be able to work for a US based company without requiring visa sponsorship.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Hourly contract rate range of $50.00 to $60.00 based on experience and qualifications, as well as geographical market and business considerations.
