JOB SUMMARY
Seeking a dedicated Geophysical Survey Specialist to conduct and manage geophysical surveys for a BLM project focused on the identification and evaluation of buried cultural resources at Welch Ranch SRMA. This role requires extensive fieldwork and effective coordination with tribal cultural specialists.

MAIN OBJECTIVES

• Conduct geophysical surveys using techniques like magnetometer, ground penetrating radar, and electromagnetic conductivity.
• Coordinate with tribal cultural specialists to ensure sensitive handling of cultural sites.
• Collect and interpret field data accurately to inform NEPA analysis and compliance with NHPA.

SCHEDULE OF WORK

• Fieldwork to be completed between June and December 2024.
• Full-time requirement with flexibility depending on field conditions and project needs.

PLACE OF PERFORMANCE

• Welch Ranch SRMA, Northern Sheridan County, Wyoming. Fieldwork primarily outdoors with some office duties for data processing.

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE

• Contract duration from June 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Archaeology, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience with geophysical survey equipment and techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively with tribal representatives and respect cultural sensitivities.
