Responsibilities for SDC :

Develop, evaluate, and control the quality of in-service educational programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Provide education, in-service training, educational guidance, and support to the facility.

Provide leadership in formulating the goals and objectives of the in-service educational programs of this facility.

Secure, develop and maintains records, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc., pertinent to in-service educational programs.

Develop and participate in planning and conducting orientation programs that orients newly hired employees to their position, policies and procedures, resident rights, and responsibilities, etc.

Develop, implement, and review the ongoing educational programs for nursing staff.

Assist in the evaluation process of nursing staff during the orientation period and on an ongoing basis. Maintain a program of continuing education to keep abreast of new trends in nursing care and procedures.

Qualifications for SDC :

Licensed RN in MA with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a long-term care setting.

Excellent teaching, organizational and communication skills.

Strong knowledge of infection control and nursing education.

Infection Preventionist Certification preferred

Strong knowledge of policy, procedures, and regulations of skilled nursing center.
