Job Summary

Provide timely and accurate weekly validation and audit of sales, miscellaneous income, expenses, and customer service items, cash over/short and store deposits. Assist with training store level bookkeeping clerks, conduct random safe and customer service compliance audits in existing and new store locations. Perform sales audit and balance sheet reconciliation duties.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

• Travel to stores and conduct safe and customer service compliance audits.

• Travel to stores and train new and existing store bookkeeping clerks. Travel to new stores and assist with setup of bookkeeping processes and procedures.

• Review weekly sales postings for calculation errors, unusual charges, accuracy, amounts, and policy violations and make corrections when necessary.

• Input and research sales activity.

• Create general ledger journal entries to record or correct sales, expenses and deposits.

• Work and collaborate with other employees outside of department in a professional manner.

• Reconcile general ledger balance sheet accounts monthly.

• Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• At least 1 - 2 years work experience, education and/or training demonstrating good knowledge of sales audit, bookkeeping and cash handling.

• Demonstrating efficient use of Windows Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and AS400.

• Demonstrating analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Utilizing excellent verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills

• Demonstrating excellent prioritizing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet critical deadlines.

Ability to:

• Demonstrate manual dexterity for typing 35 wpm, 10-key by touch, data input, paper sorting, etc.

• Establish and maintain good rapport with co-workers, supervisors, store personnel, vendors and others.

• Be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.

• Learn new software or processes as needed independently and with assistance.

• Work well independently and with others.

• Prioritize and perform a variety of simultaneous tasks (multi-tasking).

• Sit for extended periods of time

• Travel up to 50% of the time, sometimes with little or short notice.

• Physical ability to lift boxes/bags of equipment/coin up to 50 lbs.

• Perform all tasks with integrity and extreme confidentiality.

• Work overtime when required and limit time off at fiscal month end.

Machines and Equipment Operated:

• Office machines (computer terminal, copier/scanner, 10-key, fax machine, telephone, etc.)
