** Social Catering Manager**

The Social Catering Manager will effectively sell and book catering events utilizing Ballroom, meeting space, outside space maximizing F/B revenue. Establish new accounts, increase weddings and create Key Accounts to grow share from competitors.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**

* Meet and exceed pre-determined Catering booking goals for food, beverage, rental and AV.

* Responsible for prospecting and taking inquiries with prompt handling (within the business day) of all leads, walk- ins and regular scheduled appointments.

* Compiles lists of prospective clients from reader board services, newspapers, business journals for local corporate catering.

* Liason with F/B Team and Culinary/Kitchen staff to ensure the up to the minute communication.

* Maintain wedding data base handling all brides, weddings market, and shared social catering inquiries with DOC.. Determine the brides dates, space needs and ensure that all her needs are met to create a memorable event.

* Make outside sales calls and telemarket to obtain business. Also utilize site inspections and on-site luncheons to book business.

* Maintain active liaison with competitors regionally through personal contacts, professional and industry associations. Monitor pricing, service levels, facilities and function activities at competitive facilities to ensure the Hotel remains in a competitive position.

* Evaluate a potential piece of business for profitability and overall benefit to the Hotel.

* Have acquired knowledge with the ability to upsell clients, while promoting a level of service parallel to the luxury stature of the facility.

* Complete coordination of the Sales group functions acting as Convention Services CS liaison. Accurate and timely preparation of detailed Resumes and clients billing. Review function contracts prior to distribution to client and hotel staff.

* Follows up on the progress of groups booked, such as room night pick up, rooming lists, cut off dates, etc. with the Group Reservations Coordinator to ensure maximum revenues.

* Generate thank you notes to clients after functions with prompt follow up of negative client feedback as necessary.

* Follow up on bookings and solicit repeat business.

* Represent hotel in community affairs and industry related events.

* Work very closely with Catering Coordinator on the daily flow of work processes BEO preparation, inquiry follow up, maintain a thorough and detailed spreadsheet of all incoming business opportunities as well as detailed information on the definite and actualized business information sheet.

* Continue to develop and enhance all food and beverage skills through reading assignments such as industry trade magazines; food and beverage magazines; frequenting appropriate restaurants

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**

* Flexible and long hours sometimes required.

* Ability to stand during shift

* Able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 20 pounds of force constantly

* Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.

* Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

****EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS****

* High School diploma College preferred or work experience

* Must be able to read and write and communicate in English.
