Job Summary:
We are seeking an attentive and trustworthy Caregiver to join the Windsor House team helping to provide excellent care to our senior clients. You must be able to show empathy and have strong people skills. You should be observant and committed to make our senior clients feel safe and comfortable. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with activities of daily living, medication reminders, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and companionship. You will work closely with clients to ensure their well-being and safety while promoting independence and dignity.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized care to clients based on their individual needs and care plans
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Administer medication reminders according to prescribed schedules
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for clients
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Engage clients in meaningful activities and provide companionship
- Monitor and report any changes in clients' health or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any observations made
- Basic food preparation: preparing meals, assiting with feeding, etc.
- General health care: overseeing medications and administering medicine
- Mobility assistance: help with getting in and out of wheelchair, bed or shower (Hoyer Lift experience a plus)
- Personal supervision: providing constant companionship and general supervision
- Emotional support: being a stable companion and supporter in all matters personal, health-related and emotional
- Home organization: help with organizing, general house care and cleaning
- Health monitoring: following a care plan and noticing any changes in the individual's health, recording and reporting any differences
Skills:
-CNA preferred but not required
-Preferable 1-2 years experience
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards individuals requiring care
- Ability to work independently while following care plans and instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Attention to detail and the ability to observe changes in clients' conditions
Onsite certifications are available.
