We are seeking vigilant and proactive Security Guard Supervisors to join our team. The Security Guards will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our premises and its occupants. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observational skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to remain calm and composed in potentially stressful situations. We have openings for 2nd and 3rd shift full and part-time available in the Boston area.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee a team of security guards, ensuring they are following protocols and procedures, providing guidance and support as needed, addressing any issues within the team.
2. Monitor building conditions and alarm systems such as gas, fire, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning to ensure they are functioning properly and respond promptly to any alarms or abnormalities.
3. Report unusual occurrences as required by post orders, including incidents, breaches, or suspicious activities.
4. Conduct routine and random patrols throughout the site, including all building entrances, exits, indoor common areas, and corridors, varying routes to avoid establishing patterns.
5. Receive training in responding to fire or emergency situations and de-escalation techniques to effectively handle crises.
6. Detect and deter trespassers or unauthorized individuals attempting to gain access to designated spaces.
7. Monitor persons entering the building, verifying authorization and enforcing screening procedures to detect prohibited items such as weapons or contraband.
8. Monitor surveillance systems and cameras, promptly reporting any suspicious activities or incidents captured on camera.
9. Provide support to facility staff in defusing tense situations or conflicts among shelter residents.
10. Collaborate with shelter staff, maintaining regular communication and cooperation to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
11. Coordinate with the Facility Supervisor and local authorities regarding specific security concerns, and complete necessary incident reporting as outlined and approved by the State of Massachusetts.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Prior experience in security or law enforcement, Leadership a plus.
3. Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
5. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
6. Familiarity with emergency response procedures and protocols.
7. Physical fitness and ability to perform patrols and respond quickly to incidents.
8. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
9. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to security operations.
10. Experience or familiarity with Haitian Creole-speaking communities and cultures preferred.
