POSITION SUMMARY:
Wine Districts in Frederick, MD is looking for a Stocker/ Store Associate to join our team.
You will be responsible for assisting the team routinely stock, load and unload merchandise. Working with speed, intentionality and efficiency will be of utmost importance. Your role is critical in setting the store up for sales success and making sure that customers have an excellent shopping experience. Receivers must understand the physical demands of moving merchandise for a majority of the shift.
Merchandising, cleaning, customer service and other duties will also be assigned.
Responsibilities
· Distribute merchandise to correct locations; pull and stock merchandise from back room and overheads within designated timeframes while ensuring shopping area is safe and organized
· Unload merchandise from incoming freight trucks and move to designated stocking areas
· Load company truck with merchandise and routinely
· Pro-actively assist customers with purchases and car loading
· Maintain clean and organized aisles by following established replenishing, sorting and stocking guidelines
· Monitor inventory for consistent replenishment on shelves and for warehouse distribution to retail location
· Process inventory and proactively investigate/correct any discrepancies with supervisor
· Open and stack cases and merchandise; break down boxes and bale cardboard
· Acknowledge, greet, and provide exemplary service in a timely manner to encourage customer retention.
· Maximize sales by actively suggesting products through education and recommendations. Build consumer loyalty and trust.
· Be familiar with product portfolio to share and offer product suggestions to customers
· Inform and educate customers about new and exciting products
· Ensure proper signage is in place and pricing is accurate; build displays and end caps; clean and maintain merchandise as appropriate
· Ownership of store cleanliness and assist in maintaining standards on the sales floor, stock room, bathroom, etc.
Experience, Education, and Skills
· 3 years of progressive experience in retail merchandising
· 2 years of warehouse expereince
· Preferred experience in Beer, Wine and Liquor retail
· Ability and willing to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including nights, weekends and holidays
· Ability to work a minimum of at least 40 hours per week.
· Desire to continually develop retail sales skills and knowledge of product and services
· Strong orientation toward providing excellent customer service experience
· Excellent verbal communication skills
· High attention to detail
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (with or without accommodations):
· Ability to walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 10-12 hours a day
· Ability to climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead regularly
