Summary

Perform accounts payable functions to compute, classify, and record numerical data to maintain complete and accurate financial records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry entries mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.

• Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
• Code documents according to company procedures.
• Perform financial calculations, such as amounts due, interest charges, balances, discounts, equity, and principal.

• Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
• Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
• Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using specialized accounting software.

• Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to banks.
• Calculate and prepare checks for utilities, taxes, and other payments.
• Reconcile records of bank transactions.
• Calculate costs of materials, services, and other expenses, based on estimates, quotations and price lists.
• Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Ability to perform administrative and clerical procedures such as word processing, managing files and records.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications.
• Ability to provide effective customer service to internal and external customers.

• Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Ability to manage time, tasks and projects to meet deadlines.

• Ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.

Education & Experience:

• 1-5 years of accounting experience or any combination of work experience and education that provides the knowledge and basis for performing the essential functions of the position. 
• Business Central and Concur accounting software experience preferred.
• Must have extensive experience utilizing Microsoft Excel for accounting and financial tracking purposes. 
• Experience in aviation industry preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner 
• Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects. 
• Typically, sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature. 
• Ability to sustain prolonged use of a computer, sitting for up to 8 hours daily during the performance of the job.

Working Environment

• Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation.
