Wingard and Company is Hiring a Quality Control Supervisor- Manufacturing Near Baltimore, MD

Wingard & Company Inc., a growing Baltimore Maryland aerospace manufacturing company, is seeking a senior level Quality Control Inspector to join our team. We are a world class manufacturer of electrical steel laminations and other precision metal parts.

This is a full time, exempt position with a 4-day work week!

Position Summary

The Quality Control (QC) Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of QC inspectors as well as managing the daily inspection activities including receiving, in-process and final inspection. In addition, the QC Supervisor will be expected to determine compliance with order requirements, dimensional specifications, company quality system controls and conformity to customer specified standards. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager. The duties performed include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise a team of QC Inspectors, manage time & attendance using an online portal for departmental personnel.
  • Inspect product using manual measurement equipment as well as CMM’s, vision systems, and optical comparators.
  • Perform first-article inspections in accordance with AS9102 and maintaining documentation.
  • Participate in quality planning activities including preparing & maintaining inspection instructions, SPC data, etc.
  • Verify quality conformity to specified requirements.
  • Identify, disposition, and control non-conforming products.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action prevention activities (CAPA).
  • Assist manufacturing in solving quality and production problems.
  • Keep accurate records and maintain quality documentation.
  • Maintain raw material and product traceability.
  • Other duties as required.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in with geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) required.
  • Experienced in quality documentation such as control plans, inspection instructions, etc.
  • Experienced in AS9100D and ISO9001.
  • Experience with CMM programming, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, indicators, gages, etc.
  • Ability to motivate, encourage, and coach a team to help improve productivity.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Collaborate with direct reports when planning department needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Independent, highly motivated, and organized.
  • Reliable work habits with a proven excellent attendance record.
  • Effective communication and math skills.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with CMM and vision inspection systems.
  • Experience with tight tolerance, high precision parts.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment (computer, copy machine, etc.).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
