YOUR IMPACT

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Construction who will be responsible for overseeing the construction of new Wingstop restaurants and remodels in the US. As part of the Development team, this position plays a vital role in company growth and sustainability. The Director of Construction will provide leadership and direction for all aspects of construction. In this role, you can expect to inspire and coach your team of CMs, while building effective relationships with Brand Partners to optimize construction process, maintain best-in-class returns, and accelerate growth. 

You can also expect to work cross functionally with various teams (marketing, development, franchise sales, training, supply chain, technology, etc.) to provide valuable input and ensure consistency. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage, Lead and develop a team of Construction Managers to ensure consistent and high-quality levels of support and accountability
  • Oversee the planning and development process of new store openings and remodels
  • Effectively lead the construction lifecycle and deliver the company’s NRO plan, implementing any process improvements along the way to achieve these goals. 
  • Creatively lower the cost and speed of construction
  • Coordinate pre-construction planning with Design team, Construction Managers and Brand Partners
  • Create and effectively manage deadlines for all construction projects
  • Develop a network of regional contractors and design partners with clear Performance metrics and defined accountability
  • Partnering with Brand Partners in meeting business objectives, while holding accountable to performance, Brand Standards and speed to market. 
  • Partnering with Franchise Sales, Design, Real Estate and Operations teams, providing insight and direction on growth-related decisions, strategies, and new restaurant openings. 
  • Drive consistent improvement in team members through open communication, education and strong organizational skills.

Relational responsibilities include:

  • Building relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, inclusive of strong interpersonal skills and effective communication. 
  • Work with executive leadership to develop long term plans for the organization around the growth and development of construction 
  • Partnering with Global Support Center leaders as they implement new field programs and ensure effective implementation and execution. 
  • Partnering with Franchise Operations Directors and other Construction Directors to maintain consistency across regions. 
  • Build and develop teams that support company culture.
  • Ensuring team members uphold the standards and reputation of the Wingstop brand. 

WHO YOU ARE

HUMBLE: You are naturally curious and obsessed with professional development and self-improvement. Energetic and focused, you thrive working in teams or flying solo. You have an undergraduate degree in Business or another related field. Possessing an MBA is a huge plus! 

HUNGRY: You have a fire to keep pursuing excellence, and a passion for getting your hands dirty as you open new restaurants, perform audits, and manage projects with a sense of urgency from start to finish.

SMART: You are business-savvy with 10 years of experience in restaurant operations and a corporate background in Operations Leadership. You have strong finance skills and can analyze/interpret a restaurant-level P&L like no one else. Previous experience in a franchise environment would be amazing!

SERVICE-MINDED: You operate with a collaborative leadership style, easily building trusting relationships with others. You have extensive expertise in leading teams and directing projects to success. 

ENTREPRENEURIAL: You possess leadership experience in both corporate and franchise operations. You are a champion at driving change in an organization. You have no problem attracting high caliber, diverse team players and excel grooming them for future leadership roles.
