WinMax is Hiring a Test Engineer III Near Santa Clara, CA

Title:Test Engineer III, Req# 30108527Location:Santa Clara,CA (onsite)Contract: 7 MonthJob DescriptionThe Electrical Distribution team in SPG is responsible for Wire Harness design and manufacturing.
You will play a key role in setting EE specs, testing and validating Harnesses. The role involves qualifying connectors and cable harnesses to industry/ client standards. Systems cover wide range of interfaces including but not limited to low voltage, high speed (multi gigabit).
Key Qualifications
  • Candidate should have strong theoretical knowledge in the area of wire harnesses.
  • Prior experience in performing testing to meet industry standards.
  • Experience with High speed interconnects and testing techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand connector/ wire data sheet and identifying qualification plan to meet requirements beyond vendor specifications.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional discussions and make key decisions regarding connectors and cables.
  • Strong ability to assess test results to identify failure points and come up with failure analysis plan to narrow down the failure cause.
Description And ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for gathering specs for harnesses - Electrical, Mechanical, Reliability etc., and device performance specification and validation plan to qualify wire harnesses to above said spec/ standards.
  • Understand SI/PI concepts and experience with high speed (multi-gigabit) connectors and cables is a plus.
  • Strong experience with connector qualification/ validation.
  • Solid experience in setting up EE, ME, REL tests.
  • Extensive knowledge using lab instruments and measurements including power supplies, multimeters, batteries, power meters, E-load, reliability benches, temperature and humidity chambers etc.,
  • Ability to write test SOPs, report generation and data analysis to cross verify performance against set spec.
  • PCB design knowledge using Cadence suite is a plus.
  • Scripting knowledge to automate tests is a plus.
  • Up to 10% travel required.
Education And Experience
  • MSEE or BSEE with 2-3 years of experience in electrical interconnects.
  • 2-3 years in interconnect validation.
