WinnCompanies is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Baldwin Hills team, a 59-unit affordable housing located in Los Angeles, CA.

In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, residential common areas, office and grounds. This position requires a highly diversified base of knowledge and skills needed to maintain the property to satisfy ownership and management objectives.

This position offers a pay range of $18.00 to $20.00 per hour. This position requires you to live on site. This opportunity offers a typical work schedule Monday through Friday and 9am-5pm with a rotational on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs in such areas as, but not limited to: appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market ready status in accordance to company standards.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management activities.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.
• Candidate must be available for all scheduled shifts and on-call rotation.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• 2 years’ experience in HVAC, basic electrical, basic plumbing, minor fixes such as patching a wall, fixing a doorknob, etc.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.

• Vocational or technical training.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• CAMT certification.
