Position Overview: As our Beverage Manager and Lead Barista, you will be responsible for day to day coffee operations of the business. You will lead by example, crafting and serving exceptional coffee and beverages to our customers. You will play a crucial role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring that each guest's experience is memorable. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the coordination of day to day operations, together with owners
  • Develop relationships with customer and build regular clientele base.
  • Train staff and closely monitor throughout shift
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues and concerns
  • Any other tasks needed operationally- Extremely hands on roll, no office work
  • Partner with owners to generate and execute unique marketing strategies to drive business during slow and peak seasons.
  • Comprehend and adhere to all sanitation guidelines as prescribed by federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Interview, train, and develop qualified hourly employees in conjunction with owners
  • Assist on cook's line during peak hours and ensure proper cooking/handling procedures are adhered to
  • Lead the Beverage Pillar of the business (coffee, wine, beer) - continuously evolving the menu, bringing ideas and best practices for new and innovative coffee
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our coffee and beverage menu, including the origin, characteristics, and flavor profiles of each coffee bean. Educate customers about our offerings and guide them in making their coffee selections.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of different coffee brewing methods, such as espresso machines, pour-over, French press, and cold brew. Adjust brewing parameters to achieve the desired taste profiles.
  • Partner with Head Chef to develop the All Day and Pizza menu - making suggestions as to new offerings, where to source
  • Work with owners on ordering / reordering to ensure inventory levels are adequate
  • Monitor pricing of menu and make recommendations for changes, as needed
  • Develop relationships with customer and build regular clientele base.
  • Lead by example, owning the beverage pillar of the business and establishing Winston’s as a premium Coffee Shop
  • Welcome customers in a friendly and engaging manner. Provide prompt and attentive service, answering questions about our coffee offerings, making recommendations, and accommodating special requests.
  • Assist in monitoring product inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the management team.
  • Participate in stock rotation and replenishment activities to ensure freshness and availability of coffee and beverage ingredients.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a similar customer service role, preferably in a coffee-focused establishment.
  • 5 years’ experience in restaurant management
  • Experience in fast casual restaurant chains (preferred)
  • Deep knowledge and passion for coffee, including brewing techniques, coffee beans, and flavor profiles - Proficiency in operating espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such as food, beverage labor cost while maintaining required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities
  • Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with customers.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring consistency in coffee preparation and presentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple customer orders simultaneously
  • Exceptional cleanliness and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
