Expected annual base salary range: $144,000 to $240,000

GPS level: M5

JOB SUMMARY: The Vice President, Applications & Business Analytics is responsible for the leadership of applications for WCG's all-inclusive site and study team platform (InvestigatorSpace) as well as for professional services, enterprise implementations, data and metrics both internal and external facing as well as product management. The position works closely with all departments including engineering and operations to ensure that InvestigatorSpace remains a best-in-class product. This position is also responsible for successful client implementations for maintenance by Project Management teams. This position contributes to the company's overall mission to provide solutions that streamline and accelerate the entire clinical trial process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The accountabilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
  • Manages high level strategic road map for InvestigatorSpace as well as all InvestigatorSpace product plans.
  • Directs teams and customers on handling of specific complex information or workflows in interfaces.
  • Directs involvement in client governance committees; Manages relationships with the customers in conjunction with the Account Managers to ensure that all workflow automation to deeper penetrate client engagements has been explored.
  • Provides customers with advice regarding product enhancements that focus on increased customer satisfaction, compliance, and security.
  • Provides regular updates to company management on objectives, projects, and customers.
  • Manages and leads all aspects of Implementation Services, Integrations, Special Projects, and Product Management teams.
  • Follows through and drives/oversees decisions made in management meetings and ensures proper execution.
  • Manages direct reports and line managers to ensure that priorities are clear, coordination with internal and external groups is good and operational objectives and performance goals are met.
  • Develops and fosters effective relationships/collaborations between departments internal and external to ensure an integrated approach to providing products and services.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. These may, on occasion, be unrelated to the position described here.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in life sciences or related field.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 12 years in relevant clinical trials/operations; Minimum 7 years' experience in software implementation or IT project management preferred. Understand complexity with the ability to simplify implementation and process to deliver outcomes.
  • Minimum 8 years' previous management experience.
  • 5 or more years' experience in gathering, documenting, or validating requirements in an IT software development environment. In-depth knowledge of software delivery lifecycle and methodology.
  • Extensive Product Management experience.
  • Ability to provide valuable data analytics required to best position the product and exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to simultaneously focus on systems, process development, quality, fiscal management, compliance and management measures, work culture enhancement and internal communication while driving business growth. As well as deliver implementation and integration projects on time and within budget.
  • Working knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines and relevant FDA regulations.
  • Outstanding writing skills and verbal communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to the targeted audience will be required. Strong interpersonal skills required such as listening objectively and handling details of a highly confidential and critical nature.
  • Detail oriented, with strong time management and planning skills to effectively meet deadlines.
  • Mastery in dealing with complex situations including strategic thinking, conflict resolution, speaking with large groups, working with persons of varied educational backgrounds, team approaches and operating in an environment that involves high stress.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The position may require the individual to be responsible for the supervision, direction, coordination, performance, and evaluation of an assigned team and staff. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 5% - 10%

Work activities involve a frequent need to concentrate on a variety of sensory inputs for moderate to lengthy durations at a time requiring diligence and attention to interpret effectively. There will be a need to attend to single or simultaneous tasks where accuracy of details is important. The need for detailed and precise work is high.
