Club Pub Team Lead Job Description

At WAC, our goal is to be Wisconsin’s finest social and athletic club. For that reason, we have Club Pub’s where members and non-members can relax, eat, drink and socialize.

As the Club Pub Team Lead, you are responsible for all aspects of the Club Pub. You lead the Club Pub’s customer service, recruiting, training, operations, financial profitability and ongoing bartender development.

Our Club Pub is designed to create social connections, give members the opportunity to make friends and be profitable. This is not a behind the scenes management position you are on the front line, connecting with your team, club members and guests.

You have the opportunity to develop your team by hiring and developing future leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Aggressive Hospitality

  • Display a member first attitude by not only for being raving fans of WAC, but also for creating raving fans; we are all responsible for attracting and retaining members.
  • Be what you want to see live the mission and core behaviors of WAC.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to Team Members to take action and to achieve operational goals.
  • Encourage Team Members to develop personally and professionally.
  • Identify, communicate and delegate responsibilities to Team Members to ensure smooth Club Pub operations.

Team Building

  • Build and mentor winning teams.
  • Pick the best people constantly recruit talent.
  • Paint a picture and show Team Members a path inspire the best to exceed their potential at WAC.
  • Provide great training actively learn, share and apply with your team.
  • Give team members regular feedback and ask great questions.
  • Catch people doing things right and hand out WAC Bucks.

Planning & Execution

  • Lead annual reviews of Club Pub team members.
  • Create an annual calendar for your team, which include events, meetings and ongoing training.
  • Develop and manage monthly schedules to ensure Club Pub is properly staffed during peak and non-peak times.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely and accurately by utilizing every major form of communication. Be available.
  • Responsible for everything in the Club Pub.

Qualifications

Club Pub Team Lead Performance Expectations

I. Daily Operations

1. Execute a daily walk-through of all club pub areas to ensure proper conditions.

3. Monitor the day-to-day operations of the Club Pub.

4. Conduct daily coaching and training on WAC mission.

5. Complete Manager-On-Duty shifts as needed by the General Manager.

6. Attend all Leadership Meetings. Communicate information to front line staff.

7. Conduct Club Pub meetings.

8. Communicate effectively through a variety of mediums.

A. Send regular WAC Connection announcements.

B. Be available for communication during all hours. When necessary, designate an assistant or MOD.

C. Follow up on all Club Pub-specific Contact Us , suggestion box and social media communication.

D. Create department-specific annual calendar and integrate it with the corporate annual planning guide.

II. Team

1. Recruit, interview, train, coach and develop Team Members for the Club Pub.

2. Look for potential applicants from other departments and internal club locations.

3. Conduct new Team Member Wow Training program.

4. Complete 90-day and ongoing Team Member evaluations.

5. Responsible for all disciplinary actions within department, including possible dismissal.

6. Make recommendations for Team Member compensation increases.

7. Implement all Team Member policies and procedures.

8. Pursue ongoing personal and professional development and share what you learn with others.

9. Delegate tasks to Team Members when necessary.

10. Work a variety of hours to build solid relationships with Team Members and catch people doing things right.

III. Safety

1. Know and teach the Safety Plan and Emergency Action Plan.

2. Follow all insurance, liability, incident report and month end procedures.

3. Report broken equipment and building concerns immediately to General Manager and maintenance team.

4. Communicate as necessary with cleaning team.

5. Make sure all Team Member bartending licenses are up to date.

6. Ensure all ServSafe and health code standards are being met at all times.

IV. Financial

1. Complete daily deposit audits, ensure transaction accuracy and know monthly revenue for each category.

2. Make sure deposits are made and checkouts are sent to Business Services daily.

3. Check and approve Club Pub payroll twice per month.

4. Oversee all income and expense of daily service.

5. Maintain inventory and order all bar supplies, food and beverages.

6. Monitor and adjust staffing levels for peak and non-peak hours.

7. Improve club profitability while exceeding member expectations.

V. Income Generation

1. Effectively communicate programs, activities and events.

2. Train on up-selling members different programs and events that might interest them.

3. Participate in community organizations to actively promote club and increase non-member traffic.

VI. Programming

1. Plan special events and encourage all departments to promote member participation.

2. Attend and evaluate a variety programs and events to increase club knowledge.

3. Make sure department is following all program development and evaluation policies and procedures.

4. Be aware of Club Pub website and social media content to ensure accuracy.

VII. New Member Integration & Retention

  • Welcome and connect with new members and guests.
  • Encourage and integrate new members into the club via programs and activities.
  • Be personally committed to fitness by actively going through retention program sessions.
