Wisconsin Department of Corrections is Hiring a Corrections Classification Management Supervisor Near Madison, WI

Position Summary
This position develops and implements policies and procedures affecting movement of PIOCs to and from Wisconsin for during their period of confinement and completes assignment at the direction of the Assistant Administrator. This position develops policies and procedures and represents the Division to other Divisions within the Department as well as outside agencies and groups. Additionally, the position has administrative and supervisory responsibility for assigned staff, operations, and resources necessary to implement classification activities pursuant to statute, Wisconsin Administrative Code DOC 302 and DOC policy. This position utilizes expertise in the area’s offender classification, risk and needs assessment, programs, evidence-based practices, DOC reentry initiatives, and institution security to implement classification business processes within the Division of Adult Institutions and contracted facilities. This position provides leadership, direction and technical expertise in the areas of information management, risk and needs assessment, program assignment, case planning, due process, PIOC movement, research and analysis, and effective utilization of DOC resources.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 81-02 with pay starting from $83,200 to $105,726.
Pay rates on appointment for current or former state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.
A career executive trial period is required.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
This position has the flexibility of a hybrid in-office and remote work schedule of up to 3 days/week.Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:45am -4:30pm (alternate work schedule will be considered)QualificationsMinimally qualified applicants will have experience:
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures
  • Conducting risk-needs assessments, evaluations, and/or case planning that may be applied to clients in a social service or correctional setting.
  • Formally supervising staff (e.g. hiring, performance evaluations, discipline process etc.)
In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have experience:
  • Utilizing evidence-based practices in a correctional setting.
  • Conducting analysis and research to evaluate correctional practices.
  • Providing oversight of operations in multiple locations
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with staff, management, and outside agencies/stakeholders in order to enhance service delivery.
  • Managing resources for multiple projects and initiatives
