Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our patient care process by performing venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood samples for diagnostic testing and analysis. Your expertise in blood collection procedures and patient interaction will ensure accurate and efficient specimen processing, contributing directly to our mission of improving patient health through functional medicine practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients, with a schedule averaging venipuncture every 15 minutes.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the blood collection process.
- Label, process, and prepare blood specimens for laboratory testing.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines during specimen collection and handling.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate specimen collection.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a phlebotomist in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques.
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and specimen handling.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
Compensation:
- $20.00/hour
