Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Moves jobs throughout the production floor to increase operational flow.
• Works with production personnel to ensure work is moved in a timely manner.
• Helps to identify areas for improvement in workflow.
• Assists in fabrication of structural or sheet metal products, performing any combination of following tasks: Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding and preparation of material to be used in the manufacturing of fabricated components.
• Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, and work in process by hand or truck. Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping, using scraping tool, or abrasive.
• Picks up and trucks scrap from work areas.
• Tends machines, such as drill press, punch press, and boring mill to drill, punch, and ream metal stock for piece parts.
• The operation of sandblasting machine to clean metal surfaces. Performs other duties as designated by Supervisor.
• Assembly of final product and preparation for shipment.
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 0 – 50 pounds frequently; 50 – 75 pounds occasionally; over 75 pounds rarely.
• Must be able to routinely stand, sit, stoop, twist and bend throughout a nine-hour shift.
• Must have excellent manual dexterity and a level of ambidexterity.
• Visual acuity (corrected) required for inspecting work and reading written material, blueprints, work orders, etc.
• Hearing ability sufficient to monitor equipment sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action

Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Must be able to follow both written and verbal instruction.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must be able to use packaging and material handling equipment commonly used in metal manufacturing.
• Must be able to communicate and interact successfully with people at a cross-functional level.
• Must be able to work and pay attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, but also be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must have an excellent work ethic and superior attendance.

Education and Experience Required:

• Minimum High School Diploma / GED required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
