Wisconsin Spice is Hiring a Materials Coordinator Near Berlin, WI

Job Overview:
The Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement and inventory management of Wisconsin Spice’s ingredient and packaging needs. The person in this role will work closely with production scheduling and suppliers to ensure materials are on site when needed to fulfill production and stocking requirements.

Essential Job Functions:
Essential job functions of the Materials Manager include, but are not limited to:

- Conduct regular analysis of inventory data and review of production schedule to set accurate and adequate stocking levels in order to avoid shortages or excess supply

- Establish close partnership and work continually with Production Scheduling to ensure material availability for a production plan that is subject to change

-Serve as backup Production Scheduler as needed

-Execute standard purchasing processes for all packaging and ingredients used by Wisconsin Spice including, but not limited to, order creation, order adjustments, and expediting orders when needed

-Coordinate with Wisconsin Spice’s logistical team regarding material delivery to ensure timely, cost effective, and accurate shipments

-Follow-up on past due or delayed orders and proactively communicate impacts these could cause for production and/or stocking requirements

-Track vendor performance using key metrics such as on-time delivery, non-conforming material returns, material availability, adherence to stated lead times, accurate delivery paperwork, etc.

-Continually perform physical cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory system data

- Identify, evaluate, and recommend cost saving opportunities and drive standardization of processes to improve workflow efficiencies and effectiveness of materials management

-Continually maintain current item pricing, MOQs, lead times, etc.

-Support direction and strategies regarding department improvement initiatives, inventory management, supplier performance, and purchasing activities

-Assist in executing RFQs and alternate supplier searches

-Assist in setting annual budgetary pricing for all raw materials

-Participate in supplier review meetings to review and improve supplier performance

-Review price changes and support subsequent negotiations

-Establish excellent working relationships, both internally and externally

-Special projects and other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field or equivalent combination of previous experience in supply chain, purchasing, or other similar role

-Previous purchasing experience for a food manufacturer is preferred but not required

-Ability to effectively, proactively, and professionally communicate both internally and externally in written and verbal manner

-Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

-High level of accuracy and attention to detail

-Goal oriented and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner

-Capable of cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Operations, Quality and Customer Service to ensure team alignment and to execute strategic planning initiatives

-Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Other Skills/abilities:

-Exceptional record management skills

-Experience in conflict resolution

-Exceptional ability to communicate effectively with management and members of the cross-functional team

- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

- Ability to treat employees ethically and fairly must be demonstrated
