Job DescriptionReporting to the CEO and as a member of the executive team, the Operations Director will engage on issues of organizational design, process, and systems but will also be able to roll up his/her sleeves to execute those solutions. The Operations Director will be a team player who lives our core values and will act as a steward to ensure that all decisions, programs, and processes are aligned with those values.
The Operations Director will be the one who develops the HR and Operations strategy, proactively works to support and develop employees and programs, embeds diversity and inclusion into business operations, and leverages technology so we all work smarter.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the research, design and implementation of new HR programs and policies, as well as assess and improve current programs to drive engagement, retention and meets the needs of our ongoing growth.
  • Responsible for all aspects of business operations after the contract or project is awarded
  • Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our key initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with all department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
  • Uphold organization policies and standards, ensuring legislative regulations are followed
  • Ensure diversity, equity and inclusion is an integral part of our culture and environment.
  • Build and maintain an employer brand that attracts the very best talent into WITS
  • Track progress towards goals by analyzing financial reports and HR data. Make data-driven recommendations and decisions.
  • Build scalable professional development programs that grow our team's capabilities and drive employee retention.
  • Develop and grow an HR team responsible for all people centric support functions.
  • Deliver high-impact people operations programs around performance management, benefits, compensation, and succession planning.
Necessary Skills For Success
  • Bachelor's degree in business or HR; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 years senior leadership role in the related field
  • 5 years of experience in working with Federal Government contracts
  • Experience in managing the Federal Government contracts and deliverables and maintaining the relationship with Customers.
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP Certification or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR issues that impact operations, including compliance issues, employee morale, performance, and productivity.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change.
  • Technology and high growth entrepreneurial company experience.
  • Adept at identifying and proposing solutions to various business problems.
  • Experienced in designing compensation and benefits programs that are cost-effective, market competitive and drive retention.
  • Broad-based experience with HR best practices.
  • Proficient in building relationships and partnering cross-functionally.
  • Skilled in building and communicating business rationale and financial impacts of people-based programs.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills.
