JOB SUMMARY

This entry level IT role is to provide a single point of contact for end-users to receive support and maintenance within the organization’s desktop computing environment as well as be the first level of support for all backend server related issues. This position will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via e-mail) in a timely and accurate fashion. Common responsibilities for this role are setting up new computer systems, installing software, ensuring computer security is updated, providing technical assistance, and troubleshooting computer issues. In addition, this role will assist onboarding new hires and helping non-IT professionals learn new computer systems and software. This is not a remote position. This position will report into our Sparks, MD office daily.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Associate degree or high school diploma with 2-year experience with IT background.
  • Network and or A Certified preferred.

Experience:

Proficient in Office 365, with the ability to repair laptops/ desktops and printers.

Skills:

  • Have a clear understanding of both the technical details and the general direction of the information systems industry
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Excellent people skills
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practice
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Setup and train new employees on all system needs including PC’s, cell phones, VPN access, and voicemail.

· Train employees on new applications as needed

· Deployment and maintenance of company cell phones

· Deployment and maintenance of company desktops and laptops

· Installation and maintenance of company software and printers

· Researching and purchasing of IT related equipment

· Monitoring Desktop performance

· Helpdesk functions

· Train user on all functions of Office 365.

· Set up user accounts, passwords, and privileges

· Test new software and hardware and provide feedback

· Monitor and maintain system performance

· Follow up with customers to ensure their technical issues are resolved

· Other duties as assigned that fulfill the mission and abide by the values to ensure the success of the company

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL-MENTAL FUNCTIONS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

· Able to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

· Able to properly carry 25 pounds or less occasionally. The highest point of any lift – overhead; the lowest point of any lift - the floor.

· Able to move 25 pounds or less occasionally.

· Able to sit and/or stand 2 hours continuously, up to 8 hours per day.

· Must be able to manipulate small objects with close eye-hand and arm-hand coordination for entire shift.

· Able to perform motor skills such as grasping, finger manipulation, pinching, bending, reaching out, twisting, turning, reaching up, wrist turning/ torquing for 2 hours continuously.

· Able to see objects closely, perceive depth continuously.

· Able to understand, relate to, and apply concepts on a continuous basis.

· Able to remember multiple tasks / assignments given to self and others over long periods of time continuously.
