Compensation$45 - $55 hourly
Responsibilities
- Talk to patients and make sure they feel comfortable and taken care of before, during, and after the examination
- Look for signs of gum disease, infections, or cavities to ensure issues are caught early and can be treated
- Use x-ray machines to take photos of the patients’ teeth so the dentist can clearly identify cavities or other oral health issues
- Assist dentists with determining the best treatment plan for all kinds of dental diseases
- Conduct initial screenings for patients to understand their oral health history
- Talk with patients to make sure they are comfortable and have all their questions answered
- Help to identify dental issues such as periodontitis, gingivitis, or cavities so they can be treated as soon as possible
- Give guidance to patients about how to have good dental care at home
- Prevent tooth decay and periodontal disease by providing a thorough dental cleaning and applying protective sealants, fluoride, and Arestin as needed
- Conduct initial screenings of patients to understand their oral health history
- Make radiographs of the patient’s teeth
- Instruct patients on how to care for their teeth on a regular basis
- Treatment plan patients' period treatment with the dentist
- Update patient’s health history periodically and document clinical notes from appointments
- Clean and sterilize dental instruments
- Physical stamina to stand for up to 8 hours at a time
- Superb customer service and communication skills
- At least 1-2 years of experience in dental hygiene
- Associate’s degree and certification in dental hygiene program required, higher levels of education are highly valued
- Certified to perform CPR
- 5 years experience as a dental hygienist
- Must be a positive self-starter who works well with others and loves what they do
