Registered Respiratory Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care and be dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to our patients. As a Registered Respiratory Specialist, you will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to diagnose and treat patients with respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ respiratory status by performing physical examinations, reviewing patient histories, and conducting diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and pulmonary function tests.
• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust mechanical ventilators for patients who require respiratory support.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and provide necessary interventions, including airway management and resuscitation.
• Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and the proper use of respiratory devices.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Conduct diagnostic tests to evaluate lung function, including spirometry, lung volume measurements, and diffusion capacity tests.
• Maintain detailed records of patient assessments, treatments, and progress.

Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications preferred.
• Proven clinical experience in administering respiratory treatments and managing mechanical ventilators.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
