The Pathology Phlebotomy Supervisor supervises specimen collection area and phlebotomy staff. Performs specimen collection, specimen processing and general clerical duties. Performs other duties assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Five years phlebotomy experience.
• ASCP/ASPT certification preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Processes specimens accurately (orders tests and provides documentation) adhering to laboratory policies and procedures.
• Instructs patient in collection of clinical specimens with emphasis on proper technique and timing.
• Collects blood and other specimens from patients using proper technique and in accordance with departmental policies. Monitors specimen requests to ensure timely compliance.
• Provides effective communication and if needed feedback with staff members about laboratory issues.
• Maintains work schedule, and duty roster. Ensures that department is adequately covered.
• Trains subordinate technical personnel in all pertinent laboratory procedures as needed. Develops and maintains employee competency standards.
• Develops and maintains quality standards and monitors procedures in conformance with requirements of accrediting agencies.
• Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.

Monday – Friday; 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Pay Range:

Hourly/Non-Exempt

$22.00 – $33.00
