Patient Specialist oversees the billing and remit of patient balances. Position handles patient communications as well as oversight of balances. Attention to detail is required.
Research and approve patient balances resulting from processed claims
Research and resolve accounts appearing on Follow-up Reports.
Make appropriate decisions and calls to patients to maximize reimbursement on accounts to be worked.
Correct all errors on patient balance reports using all available information.
Research and approve accounts for collections.
Research and process accounts for refunds.
Meet production and quality standards.
Assists in identifying current and/or potential billing issues specific to outstanding receivable
Presenting data to appropriate parties and partnering to develop resolutions
Participates in daily production assignments that will continue to develop understanding and knowledge of processing guidelines and expectations of branches
Ability to take patient phone calls and assist patients
Assist in other duties as assigned
Requirements:Strong customer service Skills
Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task
Experience with Outlook, Excel and Teams
Team players are a must
Knowledge of Athena EHR/EPM system a plus
