Wood Violet Recovery is Hiring a Behavioral Health Technician Near Dodgeville, WI
Wood Violet Recovery – an affiliate of Sunshine Behavioral Health - is a residential substance use treatment program. We’re located in Dodgeville, Wisconsin - approximately 45 minutes from Madison.

We’re looking for a Behavioral Health Technician to assess client needs and monitor client behavior while in our treatment programs.
- You will be responsible for documenting client activities of daily living.
- You will also be responsible for client care by helping to coordinate treatment and executing daily programming.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct client rounds according to state protocols and document appropriately.
- Read communication log at beginning of shift and complete their own summary and essential tasks contained therein by conclusion of shift.
- Complete new admission intake procedures according to Wood Violet Recovery policies on all new admissions (UA, belongings searches, and paperwork).
- Document daily progress in client charts. Overnight staff to document quantity and quality of sleep in progress notes.
- Administer detoxification protocols (completion of vital signs and rounds) on all detoxification clients.
- Transport clients to appointments, meetings etc.
- Monitor the needs and behaviors of clients; interact with clients and their families/significant others as needed and document such interactions.
- Continue to learn about alcohol and/or drug abuse and alcoholism and the principles of recovery.
- Assist and participate with on-site activities, support groups, outings and community meetings, as assigned.
- Recognize early signs of illness and the need for professional assistance; follow through and report immediately.
- Respond to emergencies and initiate action as required.
- Follow HIPAA Regulations.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
- Other duties, as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
To be a Behavioral Health Technician at Wood Violet Recovery, you should have:
- A basic knowledge of administrative functions including interpersonal communication, office etiquette, and computer skills.
- Strong work ethic and high standards of workmanship.
- Active listening skills in the ongoing development and education of residential treatment services.
- Basic knowledge of HIPPA compliance and privacy measures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience, knowledge, or interest in chemical dependency and abuse.
- Two to three years’ experience in human services settings preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Current CPR & First Aid Certification.
- At least 6 months of sobriety if in recovery.
