Are you ready to make your mark? If you are interested in becoming a Mechanical Assembler at Woodward, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Mechanical Assembler reports to the manufacturing supervisor and is responsible for assembling, installing, aligning, adjusting and fitting sub-assemblies and parts or auxiliary equipment using appropriate tools and equipment, in an industrial setting. The position works under limited supervision, moderate decision-making and problem solving, in an industrial setting. This position also provides some guidance to other members.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Assemble and/or perform preset calibration/final testing. Performs moderately complex assembly and test. Products may include but are not limited to small, medium and large products, subassemblies and/or complete units.
  • Assemble, install, align, adjust and fit subassemblies and parts or auxiliary equipment using appropriate tools and equipment as per work instructions.
  • Assist engineering to improve processes and solve complex problems.
  • Clean parts and maintain tooling and equipment per proper work instructions.
  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnosis of moderately complex assembly and/or test problems.
  • Follow work instructions associated with assembly skills to become certified for work being performed.
  • Work with close tolerances and fits to meet engineering and operating requirements.
  • Pick and/or stock parts from point of use in stock rooms and places completed parts. (In Duarte, Stockhandlers perform these functions.)
  • Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and efficient manner, including Quality Assurance and Test Record.
  • Complete Warranty Data Reports on Warranty Returns.
  • Identify quality/process improvements.
Qualifications - ExternalWhat We Are Looking For
  • Ability to use a variety of basic hand tools
  • Basic written/verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to demonstrate eagerness, enthusiasm, and optimism for work activities
  • Ability to define, diagnose, and resolve problems
  • Detail orientation and ability to follow work instructions
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 3 years of related work experience and applicable certifications
This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
