Wor-Wic Community College continuously accepts applications for part-time child care aides to assist the child care teachers with creating and managing a classroom environment conducive to the learning and safety of children enrolled at the center.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or the equivalent; successful completion of Child Care I and II or 90 clock hours of instruction; completion of internship and/or field experience in an approved child care setting; excellent human relations and verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to work with small children.
To be eligible, applicants must be at least 19 years old; successfully complete a pre-employment medical report and criminal background check prior to employment; currently hold or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire the following certifications: infant and child CPR, ADA, and first aid; and have the ability to acquire MSDE credential Level 2 within one year of employment. Approval from the Maryland Department of Education, Office of Child Care is also required.
Preference will be given to applicants with a child development associate credential. These positions are scheduled to work up to 25 hours per week on weekdays.
