Job Description
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an Athletic Trainer who is committed to the ideals and joys of upper school students and who can inspire a love of learning in their students through the development and application of thoughtful, meaningful learning experiences for students. This highly motivated individual will cover leave of absence that may run through January of 2025
The successful Athletic Trainer in this role also will understand the value of working cooperatively and collaboratively with adults in a team-based setting as well as have the ability to work independently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY OBJECTIVES
- Assess, manage, and administer treatment for acute and chronic injuries for student athletes in accordance with school policy and ATC procedures.
- Provide contest/site coverage for home games and events, approximately 25 hours per week. Maintain clinical documentation on all student services.
- Act as liaison between physicians, Health Office staff, coaches, students, and their parents.
- Manage student eligibility for sports and partner with coaches on return-to-play protocols.
- Work schedule includes weekday afternoons, Saturdays, and some evening commitments
- This position will begin the last week of August 2024 and may run through January 2025. There are breaks the week of Thanksgiving and for 2 weeks surrounding the winter holidays and the new year.
Education
- Applicants must have the minimum of a B.A. in Athletic Training, must be BOC certified, certified in First Aid/CPR, and licensed by the State of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with adolescents
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Adhere to the NATA and BOC guidelines for maintaining current certification and completing continuing education units (CEUs) by the deadlines set by the BOC.

Supervision Received
- The Athletic Trainer is supervised by the Head Athletic Trainer & Athletic Director
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to travel around campus and off campus locations as needed.
