SUBJECT: Operations and Capital Improvements Supervisor, Nutrition DepartmentREPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Operations and Capital Improvements, NutritionDepartmentSUMMARY: The Operations and Capital Improvements Supervisor provides essential administrative and operational support to the Assistant Director of Operations and Capital Improvements within the Nutrition Department. This role is integral to ensuring smooth and efficient operations, including managing equipment repairs, facilities maintenance, capital planning, and non-food-related operations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (to be included along with other responsibilities)1. Equipment Repair and Maintenance Support:● Assist in scheduling and coordinating regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and kitchen and cafeteria equipment repairs.● Maintain records of equipment maintenance schedules, warranties, and repair histories.● Communicate with vendors to procure the necessary quotes needed for repairs/replacements and follow up on service requests.● Help track and monitor equipment performance and identify potential issues.● Conduct a cost-benefit analysis to determine whether the equipment is worth repairing versus replacing.2. Facilities Maintenance Support:● Support the coordination of facility maintenance activities with the district's facilities management team.● Assist in monitoring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of nutrition department facilities.● Help ensure compliance with health and safety regulations through regular facility checks and documentation.● Report and document any maintenance issues or facility improvement needs.3. Capital Planning Support:● Assist in gathering data and information for long-term capital improvement plans.● Help prepare budget proposals and supporting documents for capital projects.● Coordinate logistics and track progress for ongoing capital projects.● Maintain records of capital project plans, expenditures, and timelines.4. Non-Food Related Operations Support:● Assist in the procurement and inventory management of non-food supplies and equipment.● Help develop and maintain standard operating procedures for inventory control.● Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of non-food items.● Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and usage.● Conduct regular assessments of the vehicle fleet to ensure drivers are conducting regular cleaning and scheduled maintenance.5. Administrative Support:● Provide administrative support to the Assistant Director, including scheduling meetings, managing communications, and organizing files.● Support the preparation and distribution of reports, presentations, and other departmental communications.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:● Basic understanding of commercial kitchen equipment with a desire to learn more.● Basic understanding of commercial kitchen health and safety codes● Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative support, operations management, or a related field.● Strong organizational and time management skills.● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and ability to learn facility management and project management software.● Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.● Preferred: Associate’s Degree or other higher educationWORKING CONDITIONS:● This position requires local travel for site visits to various school locations within the Worcester Public Schools district● Must be able to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the department.● Must be able to lift 50#WORK SCHEDULE: This is a full-time, non-exempt positionSALARY: Commensurate with ExperienceTO APPLY: Any person interested in this position must submit a resume, cover letter, licensure, and answer all questions on-line at https://worcesterschools.org/about/employment-opportunitiesThis deadline date does not preclude further advertisement or recruitment
