5050 RAFFLE SELLER
The WooSox Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Worcester Red Sox, seeks to make dreams come true for families in the city of Worcester, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the surrounding region. The WooSox Foundation’s particular areas of focus are reflected through its Four Pillars: Education, Social Justice, Conquering Cancer, and Diamond Sports. The WooSox Foundation supports Veterans and Veteran organizations as well, while also promoting mental health awareness throughout WooSox Nation.
Position Overview
50/50 Raffle Sellers serve as the WooSox Foundation’s biggest revenue-generating employees who help fund programs within the Four Pillars during all WooSox home games. 50/50 Raffle Sellers are positive brand ambassadors for the WooSox Foundation and work together to achieve individual and team sales goals. Raffle tickets are sold from the time the gates open through the end of the game. This is a paid position.
Responsibilities
- Promote and sell raffle tickets using a handheld device by roaming around the ballpark.
- Deliver excellent customer service and serve as an ambassador for the WooSox Foundation by raising awareness and educating fans about who we are, what we do, and how we do it.
- Accurately handle and account for large amounts of cash and distribution of raffle tickets, which are reconciled following each shift.
Qualifications/Characteristics
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work at least 80% of WooSox home games.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, as scheduled.
- Highly motivated, compassionate, respectful and hard-working individual and a strong team player.
- Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Interact positively with fans and deliver the best experience possible.
- Prior sales and customer service experience preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Bilingual, multilingual, and/or fluent in ASL
