Career Opportunity: Mortgage Processor
Location: Fitchburg, MA
Schedule: Full-time; 40 hours per week with flexibility
Position Summary: Performs various duties to ensure mortgage and home equity applications are completed according to Workers Credit Union, investor, mortgage insurance and government loan guidelines.
General Responsibilities:
· Reviews documentation received against underwriting requirements. Requests any additional documentation required to support the AUS finding. Prepares a written request to the borrower identifying any missing documents required to support the application.
· Processes home equity applications. Communicates Home Equity approval to member and reviews pre-closing conditions. Delivers a copy of the commitment letter and valuation to the member and the MLO. Moves the home equity loan to a cleared to close status by collecting the missing documentation from the member.
· Monitors receipt of title report and property condition report for Home equity loans. Reviews documents received for completeness and any issues that need an underwriter’s review.
· Monitors the receipt of all documents required in order to submit the loan to the Underwriter for a
decision. Reviews documents received for completeness and accuracy. Updates the loan origination system with verified information. Collects underwriting conditions from borrowers and updates loan origination system as needed.
· Manages the government loan files with government lender. Uploads the file for review and follows up regarding items requested by the government underwriter. Monitors progress of file and provide
updates to the MLO, borrower and real estate agent as applicable.
· Monitors all financing contingency dates, closing dates and rate lock expiration dates.
Communicates timing to MLO regarding the ability to meet the contingency and closing dates to ensure the expectations of the member are met or realigned.
Qualifications:
· One to three years’ experience in mortgage banking. Comprehensive knowledge of Fannie Mae, FHA, USDA and VA underwriting requirements. Comprehensive knowledge of all real estate lending regulations, including, but not limited to Regulation Z and RESPA. Computer skills, ability to process loans quickly and accurately, ability to meet deadlines. HS diploma or equivalent required.
