The Director of Operations will hold ultimate responsibility for delivering the required products and services in North and South America through Direct Distributors, Dealers, and Agents.

You will oversee all aspects of our distribution and customer support operations and will be responsible for optimizing efficiency, managing inventory, coordinating logistics, service support, spare parts specification, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

The Director of Operations will work with 3rd party agencies to manage all accounting functions with timely reporting and taxing submissions in accordance with all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. You will also ensure warehousing and freight operate at the highest level of performance.

This role will provide ongoing sales support through facilitation of timely quoting, sales orders, packing lists, and invoicing. Apply payments to outstanding receivables in Business Works and prepare bank deposits.

You will assure all hiring and employee retention conforms to state and federal laws. Annually reviewing and administrating healthcare plans in compliance with IL state law.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Management of staff employed by TR Group, Inc.
  • Management of supplier relationships including Rebotec, DHG, StaminaLift, Dane Technologies, among other subcomponent manufacturers.
  • Manage warehousing and inventory control for both parts and finished goods.
  • Manage purchasing from vendors including TREAB, Rebotec, DHG, Dane Technologies among others.
  • Manage import in relationship to logistics and customs, as well as FDA.
  • Manage exports to Canada, Mexico, and Central & South American Distributors.
  • Manage domestic freight operations (internal & external).
  • Manage FDA registration and all other regulatory relations pertaining to North & South America.
  • Manage Health Canada with respect to compliance and reporting.
  • Maintains accurate records of all pricing, sales, and activity reports submitted by sales representatives.
  • Manage the interface of accounting activities with the bookkeeping consultant.
  • Manage the interface of IT with external IT consultants.
  • Involve and retain CPA for tax and financial events.
  • Provide technical support and expertise on all product lines.
  • Assists sales with the preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Manage marketing materials in alignment with Sweden.
  • Involve and retain legal counsel as required.
  • Controls expenses and costs to meet budget guidelines.
  • Inventory management – overseeing inventory levels, monitoring stock movements, and implementing inventory control measures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Support service through troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
  • Coordinate the transportation and delivery of medical equipment/parts, ensuring timely and efficient distribution to customers.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure that all medical equipment meets regulatory standards and customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, resolve issues, and ensure reliable supply chain operations.
  • Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, service management, or a related field.
  • Experience in operations management (in the medical field is highly preferred).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aptitude.
  • Proficiency in MS365 and exposure to inventory management software and other relevant IT tools. Experience with Sage Business Works is a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical equipment distribution.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Reporting and Relationships:

Internal / External Cooperation

  • Work closely TREAB
  • Oversee all accounting functions and facilitate communications to/from accounting personnel in TR Equipment AB
  • Provides timely feedback to the Managing Director of TR Equipment AB regarding company performance.
  • Work closely with NA sales/customer support
