Overview:
We are seeking a talented Communications Associate to join our team. This role involves managing various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter, creating our monthly newsletters, assisting in grant writing and creating marketing materials. You will work with our Board Member by supporting the management of the pro-bono marketing team meetings, Stars Under the Stars Meeting and the Knowledge and Coordination Center meeting, and the website meetings, scheduling meetings, taking notes and following up on deliverables.
The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and editor and will have proficiency in social media management systems, including Hootsuite and Constant Contact, and have the ability to communicate effectively across media platforms and with organizational stakeholders. Experience in graphic design tools like Canva and CapCut is required. This position requires 30 hours per week, with a maximum of 35 hours. The position would be fully onsite Tuesday – Thursday and remote Monday and Friday, with the hours of 10am to 4pm.

By effectively managing our social media presence, engaging with our audience and assisting with grant writing, the Communications Associate will play a pivotal role in achieving our organization's goals.
Responsibilities:
· Excellent professional writing skills that include using the proper format for letters, newsletter and social media
· Manage and lead the marketing meetings with Board Members. Track meeting progress, provide members with action notes and follow up needs, and report findings.
· Assist President in grant writing and sponsorship requests, follow up and tracking
· Create visually appealing content using Canva for social media posts, monthly newsletters, and layouts for annual reports. Research and tag organization partners and relevant stakeholders in social media content. Adjust provided content to optimize engagement and reach.
· Collaborate with Programs Manager to schedule and coordinate social media posts.
· Support upcoming events such as the Stars under Stars fundraiser in September, the annual Friend Raiser in February, community events and assist with the Annual Report in January/February.
Requirements:
· Proficiency in social media management systems, particularly Constant Contact.
· Proficiency in social media management systems, particularly Constant Contact.

· Ability to create engaging visual content using Canva.
· Proficiency in Microsoft operating systems for presentations and design.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
· Non-profit experience preferred but not required.
