Job SummaryOperate a light delivery/panel truck or similar vehicle to pick up and deliver parts, materials, and finished products. To service customers in the local area.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Must meet the delivery deadlines especially on time airport deliveries. Needs to know the main road and alternative roads to meet the mandatory deadline
- Loads truck with packages scheduled for the day's deliveries.
- Determines most efficient order of delivery and prepares schedule showing order to be followed. Consults with supervisor about any unusual problems.
- Delivers packages and gets receiving slips signed.
- Uses cell phone to report on progress of deliveries.
- Picks up returns and items for use by the company. Verifies goods received against packing slips and signs receipt.
- Maintains simple records of deliveries and truck mileage.
- Follows maintenance schedule for having truck serviced. Takes other vehicles for service when instructed to do so. Reports any mechanical problems to supervisor.
- Assists in general warehouse duties upon completing delivery route.
- Read and work from checklists, schedules, service requests, logs, drawings or instructions to perform assigned tasks. Respond to service requests and follow production instructions to ensure work quality.
- Maintain valid State Driver’s License with a good driving record and required insurance.
- Must be able to work the schedule provided from 1pm to approximately 9:30pm or later
- Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures while performing the work.
- Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
- May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
- Perform or assist with any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned to maintain workflow and meet schedules.
Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalency required, and 1-2 years of related experience in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Driver’s License is required.

- Must meet the delivery deadlines especially on time airport deliveries
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Must know the main and alternative roads to meet delivery deadlines
- Ability to utilize various production tools and equipment
- Requires detail orientation and attention
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work extended hours and weekends/holidays as needed to meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements & Working EnvironmentThis position works under indoor conditions and exposed to elements including but not limited to, weather, chemicals, odor, weather and environmental conditions. The employee must be able to work in an upright standing position for long periods of time, and must be able to sit, walk, crawl, climb, reach with hands and arms, work in difficult positions and lift up to 30 lbs. The incumbent must be able to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms.
