World Equestrian Center is Hiring an Assistant General Store Manager Near Ocala, FL

The World Equestrian Center is seeking a Assistant General Store Manager to join our Team!
Management of the General Store operations including, Home Away from Home, RV, Crownwood, and Laundromat. The Assistant Manager is responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service levels. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Develop strategies and assist the team in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and assist with monitoring all established quality assurance standards.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist all customers with purchases and other requests.
  • Handle and respond to guest concerns and requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist the General Store Manager as needed. Act as the Manager on Duty in the store when General Managers is not present.
  • Understand and adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Maintain positive employee relations to include coaching, counseling, employment status changes (transfer, promotion), on-going training, and development according to Columbus Hospitality’s Policy and Procedure.
  • Demonstrates and promotes a safe and secure environment for guests, team members, and assets in compliance with workplace policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and follow all cash handling procedures.
  • Order and monitor inventory levels.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise. Build displays for seasonal items/products.
  • Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions.
  • Maintain state, local, and company compliance reports and logs.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other departments to support mutual success.
  • Implement strategies to obtain sales objectives.
  • Assist with and coach in food preparation and service.
  • Work with the GM/Director of Lodging to complete all daily and monthly accounting procedures.
  • Prepare performance reviews and reports for department, report to GM and reporting to Human Resources as needed.
  • Prepare requisite reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Maintain store cleanliness and appearance to company standards.
  • Practice preventative maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying maintenance and appropriate manager if items are in need of repair.
  • Oversee the scheduling to ensure adequate staffing is in place keeping within budget restraints and established productivity standards.
  • Create S.O.P.’s and revise existing ones as needed.
  • Be present in the store for guests in need and manage the team on the floor.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure correct and accurate cash handling.
  • Assist the General Manager in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting new hires to join the General Store team.
  • Maintain constant communication with housekeeping, and engineering departments.
  • Performs other duties as directed, including assisting other departments as necessary.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule including Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.
  • Review current day’s expected arrivals and VIP and special request reservations.
  • Assist General Manager in maintaining key inventory and controls.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, And Abilities
  • Great customer service skills required.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Microsoft experience (excel and outlook)
  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Previous experience with cash handling procedures.
  • Must be available to work evening and weekend hours and have open and flexible availability.
