The Director, Tax Accounting and Reporting reports directly to the VP of Tax Operations and is responsible for managing and directing several key areas including: 1) global income tax provision and associated SEC quarterly and annual reporting; 2) income tax internal controls, processes, systems, and technology; 3) overall US federal and state income tax return compliance and reporting; 4) local country (non-U.S.) statutory income tax reporting and compliance; and 5) other ad-hoc planning and reporting projects, including acquisition and divestitures.
The Director, Tax Accounting and Reporting will manage a team of 5 tax professionals and collaborate within a larger corporate income tax department. The Director will also be responsible for managing and coordinating with external tax service providers and consultants. The Director will also collaborate with other global departments and functions including Accounting, Finance, Controllership, Statutory Reporting, and Legal, amongst others.
The successful candidate will have significant and relevant experience with all aspects of accounting for income taxes/ASC 740 for a large, publicly-held, U.S. multinational company including planning, preparation, technology and software, review, documentation, and reporting. The candidate will also have significant experience in process improvement, best practices, automation, and data management efficiencies. Broad experience with managing local country income tax compliance and reporting obligations, including coordination with both U.S. and local country service providers is also necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting for income taxes and all aspects of its reporting and documentation requirements including planning, calculation, review, and communication of the quarterly/annual income tax provisions at the global, legal entity, and jurisdictional levels, as necessary. Maintenance of the Company's global tax accounts and related workpapers including the tax payable accounts and tax basis balance sheets.
Tax internal controls including related compliance and documentation.
Maintenance and/or implementation of appropriate tax provision and tax compliance software.
US federal and state income tax return compliance and reporting.
Local country (i.e., non-U.S.) statutory income tax reporting and compliance, including management of the preparation and filing of local country tax returns.
Process and technology improvements including simplification, automation, and best practices.
Tax research and planning, as needed, including legislative changes and updates.
Manage and direct a team of 5 tax professionals who support the above responsibilities

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Master's degree in Tax preferred
CPA preferred, but not necessary
8 years of progressive corporate income tax and income tax accounting and compliance/reporting experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax departments.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to distill and communicate complex tax matters and issues to non-tax personnel
