Description
As a Firewall Analyst, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of our physical and cloud firewall infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of Palo Alto firewalls in both on-premises and cloud environments. This role requires in-depth knowledge of network security, Palo Alto firewall configuration, and expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS. What you will do
Configure, monitor, and maintain native cloud and Palo Alto firewalls to ensure network security and compliance with company policies.
Implement and maintain firewall policies, rules, and security controls to protect against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify and address security risks.
Develop and implement security measures for cloud-based environments, focusing on platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Develop comprehensive firewall architecture and network security strategies based on business needs and industry best practices.
Configure and manage security groups, ACLs, and other cloud security features to ensure a robust and secure cloud infrastructure.
Work closely with cloud architects, Information Security, and other stakeholders to integrate Palo Alto firewall solutions seamlessly into the physical and cloud environments.
Implement monitoring solutions to proactively detect and respond to security incidents.
Perform detailed, post-event analysis of technical issues.
Collaborate with the incident response team to investigate and resolve security events and breaches.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats and industry best practices to enhance the security posture.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to firewall configurations, policies, and cloud security architecture.
Generate regular reports on firewall performance, security incidents, and compliance with security policies.
Assist the Network Operations team in the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of the LAN, WAN, and wireless network environments.
Identify and analyze new technologies and alternative systems to enhance security, reliability and customer experience.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or related field and 8 years of experience. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Experience with cloud-based network infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and OCI
Significant experience designing and implementing physical and cloud firewalls.
Experience with network security practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and encryption.
Technical expertise in computer networks, firewalls, and tools used in network environment.
Strong ability to influence or lead enterprise integration and project execution.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to be on-call after-hours on a rotating basis.
Preferred
Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or equivalent
Experience utilizing infrastructure as code such as Terraform to manage cloud-based deployments.
Experience with cloud-based network infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and OCI
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, etc.)
Experience managing LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
Experience with Cisco and Meraki network hardware.
Experience with infrastructure as code, Terraform preferred.
Experience with network automation tools.
