Beauty Quest Group is Hiring a VP, Operations Near Stamford, CT

Beauty Quest Group is a leading integrated manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label hair care, color and styling products to professional salons and specialty retailers. Beauty Quest Group sells a wide range of hair care products including Aquage, RUSK and One ‘n Only, as well as private label brands for leading retailers. In addition, Beauty Quest Group provides contract manufacturing services to other leading marketers of hair care and other topical products.

Job Summary

As the VP of Operations, you will lead the ongoing management and transformation of all operations functions for Beauty Quest Group, including Sales Operation, Forecasting, Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality Management, and Distribution. The role will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer with departmental accountability for strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, service levels, and quality metrics that ensure an effective and efficient supply chain.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience developing and implementing a culture of continuous improvement across a broad scope of functions to ensure a balance between superior customer satisfaction and quality, delivery, and cost. You are process-driven, organized, analytical, and able to manage teams with diverse objectives. You must also be passionate about developing others and experienced at leading cross-functional teams. While management of these teams requires big picture strategic thinking, it also requires a willingness to dive into the detail of operational tasks.

Essential Job Functions

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage all areas of Operations including Sales Operation, Forecasting, Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality Management, and Distribution.

• Establishes annual goals and objectives, (including stretch targets) in coordination with corporate objectives and manages performance to ensure attainment.

• Develop, implement, and/or improve systems and processes that focus on customer satisfaction, optimal cost and quality, and supply chain excellence.

• Provide strategic and tactical leadership of Operations at the corporate level.

• Engage with key customers, partners, and executive team to create balance between customer demand and manufacturing capabilities.

• Consistently achieve shipment revenue targets each month by managing inventory levels, the supply chain, product mix, forecast, and customer order changes.

• Drive cost improvements by developing opportunities for material, freight, labor, and overhead cost reductions and fully implement changes to achieve results.

• Oversee all aspects of strategic sourcing, supplier development, policy and contract governance, and indirect spending activities with the key purpose of maximizing service levels and minimizing the organization's overall costs.

• Improve the existing Supply Chain by reducing lead-times, creating alternative tier two sources, facilitating beneficial inventory sharing arrangements, improving quality controls, and eliminating bottlenecks.

• Develop strategies, systems and processes that support accelerated growth and drive desired performance levels, reliability, and responsiveness.

• Monitor, review, and analyze data and performance statistics, business metrics of all service types and introducing and executing initiatives to improve performance.

• Active Executive committee participation.

• Lead and manage special projects.

Required Skill, Knowledge and Experience

• A minimum of 12-15 years of experience with career progress within a consumer product manufacturing environment.

• Minimum of 5 years in Manufacturing of CPG.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Knowledge of economic and accounting principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing data and financial information.

• The ability to manage people, build teams and drive teams who meet and exceed goals.

• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and get people outside of your direct team on board to help you succeed.

• Attention to detail is of upmost importance as well as prioritization skills.

• Creative problem solver who sees every challenge as an opportunity to accelerate progress.

• Domestic and international supply chain management experience preferred.
